Admissions

  1. Parents complete the online registration form 2026-27 and submit their complete details.
  2. Once applied, an auto generated Acknowledgement mail would be sent to the parent with all details of the admission process.
  • School is not responsible for incorrect details and  incomplete forms.
  • Parents are requested to carefully review the Admission Policy and Guidelines (available in the attached PDF) before submitting the form

Shining Star International School believes in the principle that a good liberal education is a participative process, in which the child is a key participant. In keeping with the spirit of this principle an interaction is done with the child. This facilitates the school in understanding the child’s readiness for the class to which he or she applied.

  1. KG:
    • For students applying for KG1, KG2, SSIS will conduct a preliminary screening to assess readiness for school. This includes evaluating:
      • Age appropriateness for the requested grade level
      • Ability to separate from the caregiver
      • Classroom readiness
      • Bathroom independence
      • Engagement in activities and following directions
      • Motor skill development at an age-appropriate level
      • Expressive and receptive communication skills
    • These assessments will be conducted through observation, and familiarization visits, to ensure appropriate support for students’ transition into the school environment.

 

ii.           Grades I-IX
  • For applicants in Grades I to IX, SSIS will conduct assessments of basic literacy and numeracy, as well as social, emotional, and behavioral development. This will help identify how the school can support the student’s transition and ongoing learning needs.
  • The official school report from the previous two years is mandatory. A confidential letter of recommendation may be requested if the assessment outcome is inconclusive.
  • English language proficiency and/or additional learning support assessments may also be carried out, as recommended by the school staff.
  • The school report from the previous two academic years is This will provide a record of the student’s academic performance and developmental progress.
  • If the results of the assessment are inconclusive, a confidential letter of recommendation from the previous school may be requested to better understand the student’s academic or behavioral

 

iii.            Grades X-XII

Prepares students for higher education or vocational training, with an emphasis on specialization in specific subjects, and culminating in final exams that influence university admissions. Applicants will be assessed through an entrance examination to evaluate their academic readiness for the new curriculum. The student’s academic progress in the previous years will also be considered.

      • Birth certificate
        • UAE/GCC: No attestation needed
        • India (English): Attested by UAE Embassy/Consulate + UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs
        • India (other language): Legal translation + attestation from UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs
      • Vaccination/Immunization record
    • Last report card (Grade 2 & above).
    • 2 passport-size photos.
    • Transfer Certificate (TC) + Marksheet (after current academic year):
      • KG–Grade 1: TC not needed if joining at start of year
      • India: TC attested by Education Officer + verified by Indian Embassy + UAE Foreign Affairs
      • Abu Dhabi: eSIS No. + eSIS Marksheet
      • Other Emirates: TC attested by that Emirate’s Ministry of Education
      • GCC: TC attested by Ministry of Education
    • Printed copy of online application form.

    For the Parents:

    • Passport copies (father & mother: first page, last page, visa page).
    • Emirates ID copies (father & mother: front & back).
    • Municipality-approved tenancy contract or electricity bill.

After the admission is taken, Admission slip (which includes details like Admin No, Class & Div., Parents Details etc.) and receipt of payment is handed over to the payer and the same is required to be presented by them on the first day of School and at the time of collecting books/uniform.
Emirates IDs (Student, Father, Mother) are scanned and the student is officially registered with the school through ADEK.
The parents meet the HOD/Class Teacher with the Admission Slip on the first day of School and they in turn introduce the student to his/her respective class.

Students start their journey of learning and growing with the school.

Registration & admission of the child:

  1. Admission is on the basis of availability of seats.
  2. Online registration is required for all procedures.

Attendance of the child & adherence to the school timings:

Parents must ensure that children arrive at the school every day on time. The School Timings for all students are as below –

For KG – 7.40 AM – 12.00 PM (Monday to Thursday)
For Grade I to XII – 7.40 AM – 2 :30 PM (Monday to Thursday)
Friday timings : 7.40 AM – 11:30AM(for all grades)

The school is strictly in adherence to the policies and ADEK.

Pre-admission procedure
Parents can complete the online registration form 2026-2027 ensuring that all requested details are completely filled out. An auto generated email is sent once the application is received by the school

CRITERIA

  1. Admission for students in KG & Gr.1 will be based on direct assessments. The School committee interacts with the child before announcing their final decision.
  2. Preference will be given to siblings of existing students.
  3. Age requirements are a regulatory requirement and need to be strictly adhered to. Parents and guardians will be responsible for its compliance.
  4. Admissions are granted based on the age of the child as on the 31st March in the year in question.
  5. Acceptable Proof of age documents are passport / birth certificate.
  1. Aptitude Tests will be conducted. The Application Form with supporting documents have to be submitted to the admission office of the school before the entrance test can be administered.
  2. Based on the results of the entrance test, students and parents may be asked to meet with the senior leadership team.
  3. Common Entrance Test papers are set for subjects like English & Mathematics.

Admission to grade XI will be based on Grade X board exam results and the entrance tests done at the school. Admissions are subject to availability of seats and will be offered strictly on merit.
Special appointments will be given for overseas candidates to coincide with their availability in the UAE.
