Admission

Shining Star International School believes in the principle that a good liberal education is a participative process, in which the child is a key participant. In keeping with the spirit of this principle an interaction is done with the child. This facilitates the school in understanding the child’s readiness for the class to which he or she applied.

AGE CRITERIA

For the KG Section & G1.

1. Selection process of students of KG & Gr.1 is direct assessment. The School committee interacts with the child and makes the final decision.
2. Preferences are given to the siblings of existing students.
3. Age stipulations are strictly observed and the parent is responsible for compliance as required.
4. Admission is based on the age reached on 31st March of the year in which admission is sought.
5. Age is based on the date mentioned in the legal passport or birth certificate.

For G2 – G9:

1. Aptitude Tests are conducted. The Application Form with supporting documents have to be        presented to the School Staff / examination in charge before attending the entrance test.
2. Based on the information received from the entrance answer sheets, students and parents may be asked to meet with the senior leadership team.
3. Common Entrance Test papers are set for subjects like English & Mathematics.

For G11: For entrance to Class XI, admission is considered on the basis of the Board’s result of Class X and the entrance test. Admission is subject to merit and vacancy.

Overseas candidates may come for the interaction after informing the Admissions Dept of their availability for the interaction if they are unable to come on the given date.

1. Application Form (Printed copy of Online Registration Form)
2. 5 coloured Passport size Photographs
3. Coloured Passport Copies of: A) Student  B) Father C) Mother (First Page + Valid Visa Page + Address Page)
4. Coloured copies of both the sides of Emirates ID of Student, Father & Mother
5. Coloured copy of student’s Medical Insurance Card
6. Attested coloured copy of Birth Certificate
7. Birth Certificate issued in UAE – Only foreign affairs
8. Birth Certificate issued outside UAE- (i) Notary (ii) Home Department (iii) Respective Embassy Abu Dhabi (iv) Foreign Affairs Abu Dhabi
9. Original Transfer Certificate

1. Inside Abu Dhabi – Online Transfer eSIS

ii Outside Abu Dhabi (i) Zone of particular Emirates (ii) ADEC

Iii. Outside UAE- (i) District Educational Officer of the particular syllabus/Section Officer, Regional Office (ii) Respective Embassy Abu Dhabi (iii) Foreign Affairs Abu Dhabi

11. A complete Health Form with copies of Immunization records
12. Water & Electricity Bill

After the admission is taken, Admission slip (which includes details like Admin No, Class & Div., Parents Details etc.) and receipt of payment is handed over to the payer and the same is required to be presented by them on the first day of School and at the time of collecting books/uniform.
Emirates IDs (Student, Father, Mother) are scanned and the student is officially registered with the school through ADEC.
The parents meet the HOD/Class Teacher with the Admission Slip on the first day of School and they in turn introduce the student to his/her respective class.

Students start their journey of learning and growing with the school.

Registration & admission of the child:

1. Admission is on the basis of availability of seats.
2. Online registration is required for all procedures.

Attendance of the child & adherence to the school timings:

Parents must ensure that children arrive at the school every day on time. The School Timings for all students are as below –

For KG – 7.30 AM – 12.00 PM (Sunday to Thursday)

For Grade I to XII – 7.30 AM – 2 PM (Sunday to Thursday)

The school is strictly in adherence to the policies and ADEC.
